Your Visit to the Bone
Big Bone is a welcoming church where people are friendly to visitors and passionate about God. Plan to join us at the Sunday School hour at 9:45am. Attending Sunday School class is a great way to get to know more about God's Word in an enviroment where you are welcome to ask your questions. Our greeters will be happy to show you where our classes are for every member of the family. You can worship with us before or after Sunday School at 8:30am or 11am. We look forward to meeting you. :)
Loving God
We love God...because He gives us life, because He sets us free, because He deserves it, because He is. But this love that we have for God, it’s not the confusing emotion that feels good but fades quickly like in a dating relationship or a movie affair. We understand that love, true love, is found in choice and action. We choose God’s way instead of our own. We choose to obey Him and follow His way because He says that our love for Him is made evident by our obedience to Him. And His way is by far the best way to live. After all, He has loved us always and has never given up on us.
So we study the Scriptures, and we sing songs of praise and adoration, and we obey God’s commands, to love and worship Him in every part of our lives.
Loving People
But we can’t see the One True God, can we? He is not bound by any form, of nature or that man has made. How can the Creator of the Universe possibly be represented by something of man’s working anyway? But in the letter known as 1 John (in the New Testament), the writer helps us to understand how we show our love for God. “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen” (1 John 4:19-20).
So we understand that central to the life of one who loves God is a love for others. We believe that the way we relate to others, the way we show love and patience and grace and forgiveness to others, that is where we live our love for God.
Loving the World
The people that we love are not only those in our neighborhood or community of faith. We believe that God’s message of hope and redemption in Jesus Christ cannot and must not stay here. To truly love, we want the world to know the Truth. We understand that God’s heart is for all to come to salvation in Jesus. Everyone. So we take His message to the world. We live it and we speak it to people of all ages and ethnicities, because everyone needs to hear the good news of Jesus.
